Gleaner's Gold 2021

harvested with GleanSLO, profits benefit SLO Food Bank

Our orchard is leased from the Land Conservancy in San Luis Obispo and has twenty year old Braeburn trees with a scattering of Granny Smith. We dry-farmed in 2021, and we love the flavor of a dry-farmed apple. GleanSLO helped us with the end of harvest. Since they donated their time, we made a cider that would benefit their partner organization SLO Food Bank.

The juice we pressed was fermented in French oak barrels, and the first thing you notice of the cider is a vanilla aroma. The cider presents flavors of pear and apple skin with notes of plum and white wine, the perfect  The carbonation and oak character make for a creamy finish with notes of hazelnut.

Our very first fundraising cider.

Our first year harvesting our orchard.

The first time working with GleanSLO and SLO Food Bank.

And hopefully not the last of any of these things.
